Could you be one of our Trustees?
Passionate about tackling domestic abuse? We’re looking for women to join our Board as Trustees of the only specialist women’s domestic abuse service in the Cumbernauld area. We are particularly interested in hearing from women with finance or fundraising experience or who have had lived experience of domestic abuse or previous contact with Women’s Aid organisations.  Board or Trustee experience is useful though not a requirement and we’d also like to hear from younger women who are looking for Board experience.  The positions are voluntary.  You can find more info here
or contact our Chair, Anne Murray, amurray@cadwa.co.uk for an informal chat.  Applications are open to 28 April 2024.
                                                               ———————————–
We offer a confidential service that provides valuable information, support and temporary accommodation to women and their children who have experienced domestic abuse throughout our area. We also campaign to raise awareness of this issue and work with other domestic and sexual violence services.

Support, advice and refuge is available in other parts of North Lanarkshire from the other two specialist Women’s Aid organisations, Motherwell and District Women’s Aid and Monklands Women’s Aid:

Cumbernauld and District  Women’s Aid works in conjunction with other Women’s Aid organisations throughout Great Britain to maintain an “open door” policy which allows women to access Refuges in any part of the country if they feel the need to move right out of the area.

We, as an organisation, believe in equality of all people regardless of race, nationality, gender, age, sexual orientation or ability. We BELIEVE all women and children who come to us for support. We believe women and children have a right to live free from all forms of violence and abuse and society has a duty to recognise and defend this right. Domestic violence is a violation of human rights.
